Silent Hill Downpour Review (PS3)

Well I finished Downpour so here is my review.

Story/Plot: Murphy Pendleton is a prisoner at Ryall State Prison, due to his history there he is being transferred to Wayside Maximum Penitentiary when the bus crashes in Silent Hill. The story is really good and has some really good plot twists.

Gameplay: In Downpour you'll mostly be exploring, solving puzzles and engaging in combat. There is plenty to explore as the town of Silent Hill is huge and there are 13 side quests. The puzzles are smart and well-written,they will keep you guessing. The combat is good, there are plenty of melee weapons and 2 firearms. You can only hold one melee weapon and one firearm at a time, you can block attacks and flee from combat.

Replayability: The game is extremely replayable with 13 side quests and 5 endings to get.

Graphics: The graphics are very good, the fog looks as thick as ever and everything is nicely detailed.

Sound: The music is Downpour is great and it adds to the atmosphere,Daniel Licht did a great job and I think he's the perfect replacement for Akira Yamaoka.

Issues: Downpour has framerate problems they can happen sometimes but they're not gamebreaking. There is also noticeable texture pop-in.

Conclusion: Downpour is the best non-TS game yet,Vatra did a great job and despite the issues,I think you should definitely wander into Silent Hill again.

10/10
